CODEPENDENCY & FAMILY THERAPY
As a result of Alcoholism and other dysfunctions both the sufferer and their families can end up with co-dependency issues. This includes a loss of relationship with one’s self, care taking behaviors, people pleasing, and unhealthy relationship patterns, all of which lead to feelings of low self-worth .
Family issues are often the hardest of all to deal with, in my experience dealing with this alone can be very difficult . By exploring the bigger picture and gaining awareness of ones entanglements a way forward can be found ; healing can take place and with that some peace can be restored.
Family work takes courage and commitment however it need not be the case that the whole family is involved, I have seen great changes in a family with just one person starting to make changes in the way they respond and interact within the family unit.
I have a wealth of experience in working in this area and have worked in many different settings such as residential drug and alcohol treatment centers, structured day care and one to one Counselling including Counselling with young people.
I have completed Advanced Training in Family Constellations , and use this model both in one to one sessions and in my Workshops .
With willingness and courage incredible improvements can be made within the system and suffering can be relieved .
